Gary Barrett Wedding Photography

Getting married in Ireland or abroad? Gary Barrett Wedding Photography is Irelands Best Wedding Photographer.
I capture the elegance and fun of your wedding. I am the best photographer ever with camera shy couples, especially couples who are not comfortable getting their photographs taken. I offer a simple, relaxed approach, when capturing the biggest day of your life.

Our office is based in Ballycullen, South Dublin, just 8 minutes from Dundrum Shopping Centre. We photograph Engagement portrait sessions in Dublin, and we photograph weddings all over Ireland, and abroad. The main counties you will find me in are Dublin, Louth, Monaghan, Meath, Kildare, Wicklow, Cavan, Westmeath & Wexford. But I grew up in Mulranny, Co. Mayo, so I am always in the West! I spend half my year photographing weddings in Mayo, Galway, Clare, Sligo, Roscommon & Leitrim. This is just a guide to where I work most often. I often travel a lot further. I have photographed weddings in Spain, Italy, Switzerland and the Canary Islands. We have travelled many times to the U.S.A for wedding and engagement shoots, and have worked in New York, Las Vegas, Boston, Chicago and Denver.
All you have to do is ask and we will let you know if we are available.

The type of wedding photography I do is a mix of documentary and portraiture. I like to keep things simple. I photograph what’s in front of me, as it is happening, with as little interference as possible. I am there to document your story, not create it. I love capturing candid moments, but you also need to have beautiful portraits for the mantle piece!  For this part of the day I love to create great natural looking wedding portraits of the Bride and Groom. 80% of your day is capturing what is happening as it is happening, 20% of your day is about classic wedding images.
These are the photos that the Mum’s and Dad’s want, and Mum’s love me!!

I keep the formal group shots to a minimum, as too many can keep couples away from their celebrations and guests. These traditional posed group shots are for immediate and extended families. Photos of friends and colleagues can always be taken later in the day when the Bride and Groom have had a chance to relax.
